Site Mission: Provide Pararescue and Air Rescue History

Distinguished Flying Cross Recipient

Attention to orders. Citation to accompany the award of the
Distinguished Flying Cross Second Oak Leaf Cluster
to
Technical Sergeant Richard H. Pambrun

Technical Sergeant Richard H. Pambrun distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an HH-53 Pararescue and Recovery Technician in Southeast Asia on 21 December 1970. On that date, Sergeant Pambrun flew an extremely hazardous mission through adverse weather conditions and through the constant threat of hostile ground fire. In spite of this, he superbly accomplished this highly intricate and hazardous mission in support of free world forces combating aggression. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by sergeant Pambrun reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
