Distinguished Flying Cross Recipient

 


Attention to orders. Citation to accompany the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Airman First Class Craig A. Marsh



 

Airman First Class Craig A. Marsh distinguished himself by heroism while participating in aerial flight as an HH-53C Pararescue Recovery specialist in Southeast Asia on 19 March 1972. On that date, Airman Marsh courageously entered a highly defended hostile area in the rescue of two American airman. Airman Marsh, with complete disregard for personal safety, volunteered to be lowered from the helicopter into an extremely hazardous area to render assistance in the successful recovery of the two injured airman. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Airman Marsh reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
