Site Mission: Provide Pararescue and Air Rescue History

Distinguished Flying Cross Recipient

Attention to orders. Citation to accompany the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross, second oak leaf cluster, to Staff Sergeant Aaron D. Farrior

Staff Sergeant Aaron D. Farrior distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a HH-3E Pararescue Technician in Southeast Asia on 15 November 1966.  On that date, Sergeant Farrior exposed himself to hostile fire while making a successful recovery of a friendly pilot whose aircraft had been downed over hostile territory.  The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Farrior reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
